September 2026 Message from Your LUT Representative

Welcome to Fall, friends, a time of harvest and, simultaneously, new beginnings! As part of those new beginnings, I wanted to take a moment to share my vision for the LUTs in the Great Lakes Unity Region.

We are all living in a shifting world. Change, defined and mostly undefined, is rearranging the Unity movement. In this kaleidoscopic landscape, we have the opportunity to shape our future, to co-create the place of licensed teachers in a Unity world as more than simply a feeder for the ministerial path.

No one becomes a licensed teacher on a whim, for giggles. We pursued this path, distinctly different from the ministerial path, because we found an expression of our divinity as growth through service, to ourselves and our communities. This service is a lodestar around which we can unify and create our future, at the regional level Unity is indicating will be the functional organizational unit of the future.

Unity through service will create a vibrant regional community of beings who offer that service not just to their own communities, but to the greater region and beyond. 

Before we can commit to that service, we need to know who we are and what we are willing to offer on a larger scale. Until we create an updated list of LUTs in the region and what they are willing to provide, we are groping in the dark. This is a necessary, mundane first step in a larger picture. We have to begin at the beginning to have hope of success.
